10 Things to LOVE about the Little Rock Farmers’ Market

Posted on May 17, 2019

Each Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., May through September, the best in fresh produce, artisan crafts and local vendors come together at the Little Rock Farmers’ Market. Located in the River Market east and west pavilions, in the heart of downtown Little Rock, where it’s surrounded by local businesses, dozens of restaurants and free weekend parking. With so much happening each week at the Little Rock Farmer’s Market, we thought we’d share some of our personal favorites – we think they might become some of your favorites too!

  1. Farm-Fresh Produce

Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Little Rock Farmers’ Market features farm-fresh produce from farms throughout the state offering produce as diverse as bok choy and strawberries and everything between.

  2. Local Meats

There’s way more than just fruits and veggies for sale. The market is the place to go for locally farmed and processed meats. On any given Saturday you’ll find chicken, beef, goat and lamb.

  3. Locally Prepared Foods

From jams and jellies, both savory and sweet, to sauces, pickles and honey, the Little Rock Farmers’ Market boasts a wide selection of cottage industry local goods. You’ll also find a heaping selection of locally made granolas, sweet treats and even freshly made kettle corn and pork rinds each Saturday morning!

  4. Handmade Arts & Crafts

Our artisan crafters stay busy throughout the year creating unique pieces of jewelry, art and decorative items at the Little Rock Farmers’ Market!

  5. SNAP & DUFB

Many produce vendors at the market accept SNAP benefits (look for the signage at their booths). SNAP tokens can be purchased at the Shop the Rock giftshop inside the Market Hall 7am – 2pm. The Little Rock Farmers’ Market is also a proud participant in the Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) program where patrons can have up to $20 worth of SNAP tokens matched for free to use at the market.

  6. Synergy Saturdays

Not just a place to get healthy produce, the Little Rock Farmer’s Market is a place to focus on all aspects of health. The Market also hosts Synergy Saturday, a weekly wellness event that includes free health screenings, health and wellness information and resources, and free Medicare consultation from licensed insurance professionals

  7. 2nd Saturdays

On the second Saturday of each month, the Little Rock Farmers’ Market partners with the AR Food Bank on the Lettuce Beet Hunger Together fresh food drive, the Garden Gourmet Chef Series and Lil’ Farmers Kids Club, there’s extra reason to celebrate Farmers’ Market season every 2nd Saturday of the month.

  8. Master Gardeners

Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, the Little Rock Master Gardeners set up shop to give advice and answer questions about plants and home gardens.  Be on the lookout for the free seedlings they often give away!

  9. Entertainers

The Little Rock Farmers’ Market is a market first and foremost, but there’s always some form of entertainment.  We host a variety of acts from dance to acoustic instrumentalists, even brass band performances!  The Little Rock Farmers’ Market Facebook page is the place to go for updates on special guest performers.
