Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park is a free outdoor film series shown along the banks of the Arkansas River at the First Security Amphitheater in downtown Little Rock’s River Market District. Families, picnics, and leashed pets are invited to the park to enjoy movies under the stars every Wednesday night in July. Don’t forget the bug spray! An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18 and an ID is required. Chaperoned youth, sports, church and other groups are welcome! The amphitheater will open an hour before film showings (approx. 7:30 PM) and movies with begin at sundown each week (approx. 8:30 PM).

Movies in the Park is sponsored by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. ID required.

Youth groups are welcome with adequate chaperones.

Pets MUST be leashed at all times

It is the policy of the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation that smoking is not allowed in public parks. Please refrain from smoking inside the Amphitheater. If you must smoke please exit the amphitheater to do so.

NO disturbing others

Please find a seat and be respectful of your neighbors’ movie watching experience. If you have a problem with an unruly group or person, Please report this to Security and/or LRPD who are assigned to the event and can be found throughout the Amphitheater. They are there to assist you.

Q: Do I need to bring a blanket or lawn chairs in order to enjoy the movie?
A: You are welcome to bring either a blanket or a lawn chair and sit on the grass section of the amphitheater. However, there is dedicated seating up front.
Q: Can I bring alcohol to the movie?
A: If you are 21, yes, alcohol is permitted so long as it is not in a glass container and is consumed in accordance with all local, state and federal laws and ordinances. You assume responsibility for your own behavior.
Q: Are pets allowed at Movies in the Park?
A: Pets are allowed at Movies In The Park, but must remain leashed and owners are responsible for cleanup as per any other city park’s rules
Q: Is there security on duty?
A: Yes, we have uniformed security officers on duty and LRPD for the duration of the films. 
Q: Where do I park?
A: There are both free and paid parking lots near the park, within easy walking distance to the venue. Find them at 2nd and River Market Avenue and 2nd and Sherman. Additionally, there are parking decks at 2nd and River Market Avenue and at President Clinton and Rock. The closest parking is the $5 lot right off President Clinton and Ottenheimer.
Q: Do you spray for bugs?
A: No.  Because of the fragile ecosystem of the various wildlife and bugs that we like, we cannot spray for bugs that we don’t like – like mosquitos.  So, we recommend that you bring bug spray.
Q: Are concessions for sale at Movies in the Park?
A: Yes. A variety of concessionaires set up during Movies in the Park offering selections ranging from soft drinks, candy and popcorn, to hot dogs, burgers and bbq, to ice cream, snow cones and popsicles.
Q: But can I bring my own food?
A: Yes. You are welcome to bring your own food so long as you clean up after yourself when the movie is over.
